The Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor program – TX & LA area

The Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor program is donating $1,000,000 to local organizations in the TX & LA areas.   All you have to do is download and print out a flyer for your particular organization of choice by searching here.  Take your letter with you next time you go to Kroger and have the cashier scan it along with your Kroger Plus Card.  You only have to do this one time and you are good for the remainder of the program year until April 30, 2010.  Each time you shop using your Kroger Plus Card, Kroger will donate a portion of your eligible purchases to the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor program.    For more information on the program, please click the banner above.   If you do not have an organization listed but you would still like to participate, feel free to donate to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Garland by clicking here to download the flyer.  No matter what your organization choice, this is a wonderful program that serves a great purpose at no additional cost to you other than what you are already shopping for!

My Kroger trip 10/11 – $90.00 Savings!

I wasn’t real prepared this weekend for Kroger and the deals they had because I have yet to find a way to organize my time between coupon clipping, deal seeking and working a full time job but somehow between my coupon/deal loving husband (I totally am digging this part!) we were able to stock up on some goodies and walk out of the store for under $100.00 with a savings of $90.21.  Not the best ever but pretty darn close to 50% and these days, to buy everything you use or need and to save half isn’t too bad at all!  Among some of our deals we came away with :

2 Healthy Choice frozen meals – FREE with $2.00 off coupon found here.  With Kroger’s MegaDeal they were $1.77 each with left an overage of .23 cents each.

4 Activia yogurt 4 packs on sale for $1.99 – with coupons from Sunday paper, only .99 cents each!

3 boxes of Totinos Pizza Rolls for FREE with the .35 off coupons from the Sunday paper…our Kroger triples up to .39 cents.  These were on sale for .99 cents so we actually had an overage of .18 cents.

2 Venom drinks (my girls love these…I prefer “Drank” the relax drink!) for FREE as well.  I had a B1/G1 printable and 2 $1.00 off printables.  Original price was $1.79 so again, I had an overage of .21 cents.

4 Kotex pads for $1.50 each with the coupons in the 10/4 Sunday paper. (With teenage girls, once can never stockpile enough of theses…they would kill me for saying that but I swear one of them is always in need!)

6 Green Giant Steamers – these are awesome!  Got them for an average of .72 each with 6 various coupons.

2 Sobe beverages for FREE with a Catalina I had from Kroger and the printable Sobe coupons that you can print from here.  The Catalina was a B1/G1 and the other two were for .25 off tripled!  Again, an overage…this time .50 cents!

My kitchen cabinets are small so they don’t hold everything but you got the idea.  Many good deals ending today.  I can’t wait to see what next week has to offer!  I get my new ad in tomorrows mail but if anyone knows of a good site that gets the deals early, please comment me and let me know!

72% Saved?? Wow…that was AWESOME!!

Despite my feeling ill, hubby and I had to take a trip to Kroger to pick up some ink for my daughter’s computer so that she could finish a project. Well, the first thing I did when he mentioned the store was grab a handful of coupons I had put together for one of the Mega Deals this weekend. Here is what I got:

4 pkgs Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs @ .99 each
2 boxes Ritz Crackers @ 1.99 each
2 boxes Ritz Crackerfulls – Free w/ coupon and purchase of Ritz Crackers
2 Dryers Ice Cream (half gallons) @ 1.49 each – gotta love the coupons from Sunday’s paper!
2 Pepperoni Hot Pockets – .49 each w/ Mega Deal plus coupons from the Sunday paper!

Total before savings – $41.97
Total OOP – $11.58

Total Savings (per the recipet) 72%…WOW!!

Going back for more before the Mega Deal ends!!

Oh no…this can't be happenening…

Okay, I am not getting this. I went through 3 rounds of Chemo earlier this year and not once had any signs or symptoms of the flu. When my numbers were at their lowest I still managed to work and shop and occasionally ride the train while avoiding the nasties. Just when we are so busy at work getting our new site ready to be launched…when being at work is imperative…here I go and wake up feeling achy and running a fever. I was so looking forward to my venture to Kroger this weekend and now it is looking like hubby will be going on his own. That spells disaster right there! Though he is on board with the couponing and living frugal, he isn’t the most patient man in the world so I can’t at all see him carrying my coupons or my binder and going on a bargain hunt. Blah…I don’t like this at all :(
